Who Is Entitled To A Courtesy Car?

Any UK driver is entitled to a cost-free courtesy car in the following instances:

  1. A driver is involved in a non-fault vehicle accident with a correctly insured vehicle.
  2. A driver has their vehicle damaged due to the actions of a correctly insured negligent party.

To be entitled to a cost-free courtesy car drivers must be: (Circumstances Permitting)

  • Aged 17 years or above hold a full UK driving license
  • Not responsible / Liable for the accident and the sustained vehicle damage
  • Correctly insured at the time of the accident.
  • Their vehicle must have been correctly Taxed & MOT’ed

Insurance courtesy cars are offed by an insurance company if the driver holds the correct level of cover. Usually, this will mean that UK drivers who hold fully comprehensive car insurance will be entitled to a courtesy car from their insurers in most instances baring during routine mechanical repairs or servicing.
