Courtesy Hire Cars – Vehicle Claims – Credit Hire

Can You Receive a Courtesy Car or Hire Car After a Non-Fault Accident?

Courtesy hire cars and credit hire vehicles are provided based upon the circumstances of the accident and your requirements. If the vehicle accident was not your fault, you are often entitled by English Tort Law, to recover all your costs and expenses from the at-fault driver’s insurance company. This includes the cost of a like-for-like replacement vehicle, as well as any other losses you may sustain as a direct result of the accident. You are entitled to be put back in the same position you enjoyed before the car accident happened.

We provide a seamless service, eliminating financial worries. When you instruct our service, we take care of everything at no cost to you. We recover the costs from the at-fault driver’s insurance company at standard Association of British Insurers hire vehicle rates. We provide like-for-like credit hire and like-for-like courtesy hire cars following non-fault road traffic accidents. Our post accident car hire service team is available to help 24 hours a day. Our vehicles are delivered with fully comp insurance, the cover is matched to your own vehicle’s policy. This means anyone covered on your vehicle can also be covered on the hire vehicle.

Note. Many insurers, including the negligent drivers insurance company, will provide temporary hire cars and courtesy vehicle services as well. You may also contact your vehicle manufacturer approved agent as many will provide courtesy cars during repairs. We always suggest to fully research your options to find the best solution.

What Are The Age Limits?

We provide services to UK residents age 17 years plus with more than 3 months of driving experience, holding full valid driving licenses. This will be dependent upon who owns the vehicle and the circumstances which created the requirement (See our courtesy cars for young drivers page for further information)

Can I use the Accident Courtesy Car / Credit Hire Service With Any Insurance Type?
Third-Party Drivers:

If you hold third party only or third party fire and theft cover, you can often be responsible for paying everything up front after an accident. With our service, this is not the case. We step in and cover this outlay on your behalf and claim it back at standard ABI rates from the at-fault insurance company.

Fully Comp Drivers

Many people believe they are covered for everything if they have fully comprehensive insurance, which is why it’s called “Fully Comprehensive.” This may not always be true. You will be covered for the repair to your vehicle, but you may only receive a small basic courtesy car provided by the garage chosen by your insurer. If you need a larger vehicle, you’re out of luck.

That’s not all. If you claim your insurance and your car is written off, your insurer may not provide you with a vehicle unless you pay for it! Typically, you’ll have to wait for 2-4 weeks for your insurance to pay for the claim, leaving you with the financial burden of hiring a vehicle that you could do without.

Regardless of insurance cover type, you don’t have to claim on your insurance after a non-fault car accident. If you need a replacement hire vehicle or want to claim for your vehicle, ACC are ready to help! We provide a like-for-like replacement vehicle via our accident courtesy hire car service. You can keep this courtesy hire car /credit hire car after the accident until you receive cleared funds for your vehicle write off value, or your vehicle is fully repaired. This service is provided at no cost to you or your insurance.
