The report is sent for your approval whereupon we will either authorise repairs to a repair garage of your choice or claim back your agreed write off value. During the claim process and until settlement we ensure you keep the courtesy vehicle keeping you on the road and able to continue with your daily life.

Courtesy motorbikes are provided at no cost to you or your insurer should the accident not be your fault. We provide a like for like motorbike, moped or a car if a rider is injured as a result of the accident. The courtesy motorbike is of the same size, type and power as your motorbike. You are given a choice of courtesy bike to ensure it meets your requirement.

The cost of the courtesy motorbike is claimed directly from the at-fault parties insurer in line with ABI standards and GTA protocol. Riders involved in a non-fault road traffic accident involving another correctly insured negligent party, are entitled to receive a like for like vehicle (or car) during the claim process and until the vehicle claim is settled. The negligent parties insurer is responsible to cover the cost of the courtesy vehicle throughout this period. The claim is made through your right to claim under Tort law, as the cost of a temporary replacement motorbike is a recoverable expense.

Motorbike Claim Without Using Your Insurance

Because ACC offers a no-cost direct claim route you do not have to claim via your motorbike insurance policy in the event of a non-fault accident.
